Our School

About Our School

Apollo Middle School opened in 1968, in honor of the three astronauts who lost their lives on the Apollo spacecraft just a year earlier. Since its founding, our school has evolved and grown into one that is now known for its diversity, inclusiveness, SEL integration, and focus on the Arts.

Apollo's mission is to provide unwavering, rigorous, and equitable opportunities for knowledge in an environment that celebrates the whole learner.  Each staff member is committed to providing an exemplary learning environment that encourages and celebrates achievement while embracing diversity and produces seekers of knowledge who are prepared for a precipitately changing world.  Our students' innumerable contributions to a diverse learning community bolsters the skills needed to flourish in education and beyond.

Apollo Middle School is committed to preparing students for postsecondary education through AVID, Advancement Via Individual Determination.  Students who are exposed to AVID attend college at higher rates.  The program prepares them to think critically, collaborate effectively, and set high expectations for themselves.
